A day in Carloforte
They say that one day is enough to fall in love with Carloforte, listed among “The most beautiful villages in Italy” and built on the Island of San Pietro in the mid-1700s by the Tabarchini, a people of Ligurian origin from the Tunisian island of Tabarka, where they had settled in the mid-16th century. Carloforte, where the Ligurian and North African cultures have left indelible traces, can be reached by ferry and explored on foot via its mysterious winding alleys, surrounded by the inviting scents of typical local cuisine.
The excursion also includes a guided tour of the island to discover its hidden coves and the majestic lighthouse of Capo Sandalo, as well as the opportunity to taste some local specialities including the famous tuna of Carloforte.
